Audience analytics & viewer privacy

The Numbers module’s deeper analytics — Acquisition, Raids, Journey, Behavior, Patterns, and Subscribers — build a per-viewer picture of how your audience arrives, engages, and converts. This page explains exactly what is recorded per viewer, how long it’s kept, and how a viewer can opt out.

What’s tracked per viewer

Only viewers Twitch identifies (by a chat message or an event like a follow, sub, gift, cheer, or resub) are recorded — silent lurkers are invisible. Anonymous cheers and gifts aren’t attributed to anyone.

Retention by tier

Per-viewer analytics honor the same retention window as the raw event feed. A daily job prunes every per-viewer table past your plan’s window:

Aggregated chart buckets, sessions, hype-train records, and total-snapshot history are kept regardless of tier — only per-viewer rows age out. See Tier comparison.

Viewer opt-out

Any viewer can opt out of per-viewer analytics without a StreamerCatalyst account. Opting out removes them from every per-viewer table and prevents future recording; they can also undo a previous opt-out.

Tips are the one exception. A tip is a financial record, so opting out doesn’t delete it — it strips the tipper’s identity from the analytics record and keeps the amount. The tip ledger in the Tipping module, which the broadcaster needs for their own bookkeeping, is separate from audience analytics and isn’t affected by the opt-out.
