Tracking Stream Growth with Numbers
The Numbers module provides the analytics necessary to monitor your stream’s performance. Whether you are looking at daily trends or long-term growth, Numbers allows you to access historical data to inform your streaming strategy.
Module Overview
Numbers is available to all users, starting with the Free tier. While the core analytics functionality is available to everyone, the amount of historical data you can access—known as Analytics retention—is determined by your current subscription tier.
| Tier | Analytics Retention |
|---|---|
| Free | 7 days |
| Affiliate | 30 days |
| Partner | 365 days |
| Partner+ | Unlimited |
For a full breakdown of how your subscription affects your features, see the Tier comparison documentation.
Practical Task: Performing a Weekly Growth Review
A common task for streamers is reviewing the previous week’s performance to see if recent changes (such as a new schedule or a new game) improved engagement.
1. Accessing your Analytics
Navigate to the Numbers module within your StreamerCatalyst dashboard to view your available data.
2. Setting your Timeframe
The web UI uses preset range buttons rather than custom date pickers. You can select from the following options:
- Stream (last or current stream)
- Today
- 7D
- 30D
- 90D
Note that the amount of historical data displayed in these ranges is limited by your subscription’s Analytics retention. For example, while the 30D button is available, users on the Free tier can only view data from the last 7 days.
3. Worked Example: Evaluating a Schedule Change
Imagine you decided to move your stream from evenings to afternoons last week. To see if this worked:
- Open the Numbers module.
- Select the 7D range button (this is possible on all tiers, including Free).
- Compare the metrics from your old evening slots against your new afternoon slots.
- Identify trends: If your numbers have increased, you can maintain the new schedule.
Note: If you wanted to compare this new afternoon schedule against your performance from three months ago to see a seasonal trend, you would need to be on the Partner tier or higher to access that historical data.
