Tipping — Authentication & permissions
OAuth scopes
Tipping requests no Twitch OAuth scopes of its own. It works from your StreamerCatalyst sign-in; payments run through Stripe, and payouts go to the Stripe Connect account you link in Tipping, which you authorise on Stripe rather than on Twitch. A viewer who chooses to tip as their Twitch account signs in with no scopes at all: it proves who they are and grants nothing.
EventSub subscriptions
Tipping registers no EventSub subscriptions. Tips arrive from Stripe, and each settled tip is published to the rest of the platform as a catalyst.tip event through the same internal fan-out that delivers Twitch events, so alerts, goals, overlays and Events rules see it without any Twitch subscription.
